Architecture and Technology
Dolby Atmos transcends the limits of traditional surround systems (5.1 and 7.1) by introducing a third dimension: height. Unlike channel-based formats, which often force mixing compromises—such as struggling to balance dialogue against the score—the object-based approach allows up to 128 simultaneous elements to be positioned and freely moved within a three-dimensional space.
The result is a completely natural, multi-dimensional acoustic experience, where every sonic detail is anchored precisely where the director and sound designer intended.
